Campo alle Noci Brunello di Montalcino is a prestigious Italian red wine from the DOCG appellation of the same name, nestled in the hilltop town of Montalcino in Tuscany. Produced by the Campo alle Noci estate — associated with Villa Poggio Salvi — this wine is crafted from 100% Sangiovese, Tuscany's flagship grape prized for its ability to reflect its terroir. Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy's most celebrated and age-worthy red wines, governed by strict DOCG regulations requiring extended barrel and bottle aging before release.
The wine presents a deep garnet color with nuanced aromas of dark cherry, cranberry, menthol, forest floor, leather, and hints of tobacco and spice. On the palate, bright red fruit leads the way — primarily cherry and cranberry — with well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, structured finish. Alcohol content is approximately 14–14.5%. Decanting for at least 2–3 hours before serving is strongly recommended to allow the wine's full complexity to emerge. This bottling is sold as a case of 12 x 750ml bottles.
The wine has earned an average of 88.9 points from community reviewers on CellarTracker, and a 4.1/5 rating on Vivino from over 1,000 ratings. Outstanding recent vintages include 2015 and 2019. It pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, venison, game meats, and rich pasta dishes such as Bolognese.
