Barkan Platinum Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium kosher red wine from Israel's Galilee region, produced by Barkan Wine Cellars — one of the most awarded Israeli wineries in international competitions, with over 400 medals since its founding in 1989. The Platinum designation marks a highly selective process in which exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon barrels are identified during the annual barrel tasting and set aside for extended aging of 18 months before release. The result is a wine of notable depth and elegance, reflecting the cooler terroir of the Upper Galilee.
The wine presents an opulent profile of ripe dark fruits — black cherry, blackberry, and dried fruit — interlaced with chocolate, warm spice, savoury herbs, tobacco, and earthy undertones. It is described by critics as elegant and food-friendly, with a warm and stylish character and a smooth finish. Rated 90 points by the CellarTracker community, this wine benefits from another one to two years of bottle aging and is well-suited to grilled meats, hearty stews, and rich sauces. Barkan's chief winemaker Ido Lewinsohn, a Master of Wine, oversees production across Barkan's 2,500 acres of vineyards spanning Israel's finest winegrowing regions.
