Gekkeikan Haiku is a premium Tokubetsu Junmai sake crafted by Gekkeikan Sake (USA), Inc. in California. The designation "Tokubetsu" means "special" and reflects the use of rice polished to a 70% ratio — an intentional choice to reduce waste and preserve the full, natural flavor of the rice. The sake is pasteurized only once using the namazume method, which contributes to its vibrant, fresh character.

On the nose, Haiku delivers rich, juicy aromas of ripe pear, freshly cut pineapple, apple, and muscat grape. On the palate, a bold wave of pineapple opens first, transitioning into layers of apple, pear, and mango, followed by refreshing acidity and a hazelnut-like umami. The finish is surprisingly dry and clean given its fruit-forward profile, with lingering sweetness and umami. Alcohol content is 14.6% ABV. Sulfite free.

Best served well chilled or at room temperature. Pairs well with a wide range of foods including sushi, grilled fish, light pastas, and fresh cheeses.
