Inspired by motorsport, the Seiko Essentials SSB397 is a stainless steel chronograph watch designed for sport and everyday wear. The 41mm stainless steel case houses a Caliber 8T63 quartz movement and is protected by a Hardlex crystal, with water resistance to 100 meters (10 bar). The case measures 12.3mm thick with a 22mm lug width and is paired with a matching stainless steel bracelet secured by a three-fold clasp with push-button release.

The dimensional embossed black dial is framed by a black tachymeter outer ring and features applied metallic elements with gray accents, designed to evoke the look of an engine compartment. Three subdials deliver a 24-hour indicator, a date calendar, and a full chronograph function that measures up to 60 minutes of elapsed time in 1/5-second increments. LumiBrite hands and hour markers provide legibility in low-light conditions.
