Windemere Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is a California red wine sourced from Sonoma County's Russian River Valley, one of the premier cool-climate Pinot Noir appellations in the United States. The region's characteristic fog and marine influence from the Pacific Ocean create a long, gentle growing season that yields grapes with bright natural acidity and refined fruit character.
The wine pours a light to medium ruby red and offers aromas of cranberry, red cherry, and subtle earthy, smoky notes with a touch of eucalyptus. On the palate it is light-bodied with flavors of strawberry, cranberry, and red fruit, supported by lively acidity and soft, low tannins. The finish is clean with a hint of herbal spice. Rated 3.6 out of 5 on Vivino across nearly 600 ratings and a CellarTracker community score of 89 for the 2022 vintage.
Windemere is part of the Stoller Collection and draws on a winemaking tradition rooted in Burgundian-style viticulture. The winery's origins trace to 1974, when Andy MacGregor planted the MacGregor Vineyard on California's Central Coast—one of the region's pioneering cool-climate estates. This 750ml bottle represents strong value for a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, pairing well with salmon, roasted duck, mushroom dishes, and soft cheeses.
