This acid reducer compares to the active ingredient in Prilosec OTC and contains 42 tablets packaged as three 14-day courses of treatment. Each delayed-release tablet contains 20 mg of omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that works by decreasing stomach acid production at the source.

This medication is designed for adults who experience frequent heartburn occurring 2 or more days per week. The delayed-release formula prevents the medication from being broken down by stomach acid, allowing it to reach the intestines where it is absorbed into the bloodstream. It may take 1 to 4 days for the medication to reach full effectiveness. The product is intended to be used once daily (every 24 hours) for 14 consecutive days.
