Weingut Frank Grüner Veltliner is a classic Austrian white wine from the Weinviertel DAC appellation in Niederösterreich, produced by Harald Frank — a tenth-generation winemaker from the village of Herrnbaumgarten in Austria's coolest, driest northeastern corner. Made from 100% Grüner Veltliner grapes grown on loess soils at elevations between 180 and 320 meters, the estate's 40+ year-old vines yield fruit with exceptional concentration and typicity.
The wine pours pale yellow and offers aromas of warm citrus, ripe pear, elderflower, and black pepper on the nose — the signature "pfefferl" (little peppery one) character for which Weinviertel Grüner Veltliner is celebrated. On the palate it is clean, nuanced, and spicy, with fruit underpinned by crushed rock minerality and a bright, satisfying finish. Grapes are hand-harvested and farmed sustainably without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, then aged in stainless steel for 5 months before bottling. The wine clocks in at 12.5% ABV with 6.0 g/L acidity and just 1.7 g/L residual sugar, making it a dry, food-friendly white with excellent versatility at the table.
