Omen Red Blend is a bold, hand-crafted California red wine sourced from high-elevation "hidden gem" AVA vineyards in the Sierra Foothills. The blend is composed of 50% Zinfandel, 40% Petite Sirah, and 10% Barbera, all sourced from the Element 79 Vineyard in the Fair Play AVA, situated at 2,400 feet elevation on deep granite soils. The grapes are fermented separately, cold-soaked for three days, fermented at 85°F with extensive skin maceration of 10 to 20 days, then aged in French oak barrels (30% new) for nine months. The wine carries 14.8% ABV and approximately 3,400 cases are produced annually.
On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of blackberry jam, Bing cherry, boysenberry, dark chocolate, and spicy hints of licorice and clove, with notes of dried flowers and vanilla cream. The palate delivers flavors of lingonberry, blackberry, orange spice, mocha cream, layered with earth, clove, dried tobacco, and a silky, long finish. It earned 93 points from Wine Enthusiast and was named one of Wine Enthusiast's "Best Buys: Top-Rated Wines $20 and Under for 2025," ranking #40 out of 100.
