Lillet Blanc is France's original wine-based aperitif, crafted in Podensac in the Bordeaux region since 1872. Made from a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc wines infused with liqueurs, citrus fruit peels, and botanicals, it offers an elegantly complex drinking experience that bridges wine and spirits. It contains no artificial flavoring and is produced by the Pernod Ricard family of brands.
On the nose, Lillet Blanc opens with delicate aromas of orange blossom, fresh mint, and light florals backed by a hint of vanilla. On the palate, flavors of candied orange, honey, pine resin, and exotic fruit come together in a bright, crisp profile. The entry is mildly sweet, giving way to a slightly dry body and a subtly spiced finish. At 34 proof (17% ABV), it is notably lighter than most spirits.
Best served well chilled, Lillet Blanc is perfect on its own over ice with a slice of fresh orange or grapefruit. It is an essential ingredient in the classic Vesper Martini and shines in a Lillet Grapefruit Spritz or a Lillet Gin & Tonic. It pairs especially well with fresh oysters, seafood, and light hors d'oeuvres, making it an ideal pre-dinner aperitif.
