Secco-Bertani Valpolicella Ripasso Italy 750 ml

Secco-Bertani Valpolicella Ripasso is a classic Italian red wine from the Veneto region, produced by Bertani, one of the most historically significant wineries in the Valpolicella area since its founding in 1857. This wine is crafted using the traditional ripasso method, in which already-fermented Valpolicella wine is blended with naturally dried grape skins, triggering a second fermentation that imparts greater richness and concentration while preserving the fresh, elegant character of the Valpantena subzone.

The blend is composed primarily of Corvina (70%), Corvinone (20%), and Rondinella (10%) grapes sourced from the hills of Valpantena and the Valpolicella Classico area. The wine is aged approximately 9 months in tonneau barrels, developing a ruby-red color with aromas of dark cherry, dried fruit, and baking spice. On the palate, it offers depth and structure with a lively acidity and a long, spiced finish. The 2021 vintage earned 91 points from Wine Spectator.

This Ripasso pairs exceptionally well with truffled pasta, risotto with porcini mushrooms, aged cheeses, and braised meats. Serve at 18–20°C. The wine contains sulphites. Alcohol content is approximately 13.5% by volume. Each bottle is 750 ml.
