This Zinfandel is loaded with dark cherry, briar patch, vanilla, white pepper, and spicy cumin aromas. The palate is broad and clean with mouth-filling tannins and flavors of dark plum. Wine Spectator awarded the 2020 vintage a 93-point rating, describing it as powerful and deeply structured yet agile, with a core of ripe tannins and lively acidity wrapped in layers of currant, loamy cracked pepper, and licorice flavors, finishing with dried sage on a firm, lingering finish. The high-elevation El Dorado fruit produces an elegant, restrained style with complexity that distinguishes it from lower-elevation Zinfandels.
