The speaker features PositionIQ technology, which uses a built-in sensor to detect its orientation and automatically adjusts the EQ for optimal sound whether placed vertically, horizontally, or lying flat. With an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating, the SoundLink Flex SE can be submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes and will float if dropped in water. The durable construction includes a powder-coated steel grille, soft-touch silicone exterior, and a tear-resistant fabric utility loop for easy carrying.

Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity provides stable wireless streaming from up to 30 feet away, with memory for up to 8 paired devices and the ability to connect to two active devices simultaneously. Party Mode allows pairing with another compatible Bose Bluetooth speaker for synchronized playback. The SE (Special Edition) version sold at Costco excludes the built-in microphone, so it cannot be used as a speakerphone.
