Although the Costco placard references Rioja, this wine is crafted entirely from 100% Monastrell grapes grown in the Alicante DO appellation — a grape variety known locally as Mourvèdre, celebrated for producing rich, full-bodied reds in the warm Mediterranean climate of this coastal region.
