Louis Roederer Collection 245 is a premium multi-vintage Brut Champagne from the esteemed Champagne Louis Roederer house, representing the 245th blend since the house's creation in 1776. This cuvée showcases a sophisticated blend of 41% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 24% Pinot Meunier, with 55% from the 2020 base vintage, 35% from a perpetual reserve of 2012-2019 vintages, and 10% reserve wines aged in oak from select years between 2010-2019.
The champagne displays a beautiful golden yellow hue with delicate and regular effervescence. The generous nose reveals aromas of ripe orchard fruits including nectarine and yellow peach, toasted brioche, fresh almond, citrus notes of lemon zest and lime, delicate floral notes, and subtle smoky accents. On the palate, it offers a creamy, velvety texture balanced by crisp acidity and lively mousse, with flavors of lemon tart, white peach, Gala apple, salted almond, and subtle minerality. The finish is long, refined, and chalky with delicate woody and smoky touches.
Crafted from grapes sourced from Louis Roederer's 241-hectare estate vineyard divided into 410 plots across Grands and Premiers Crus in the Marne Valley, Montagne de Reims, and Côte des Blancs. The champagne is aged for nearly 4 years on lees in the house's cellars, with only 22% undergoing malolactic fermentation. The dosage is a restrained 7 grams per liter, contributing to its refined, dry character. This elegant champagne has earned critical acclaim with ratings of 94 points from Wine Enthusiast and The Wine Independent, 93 points from Jeb Dunnuck and James Suckling, and 92 points from Wine Spectator and Vinous. Alcohol content is 12.5% by volume. Contains sulfites.
