Albert Bichot Pommard "Clos des Ursulines" Monopole is a prestigious red Burgundy wine produced exclusively by Maison Albert Bichot through their Domaine du Pavillon estate. As a monopole, the entire Clos des Ursulines vineyard — nearly 10 acres of calcareous clay soil with white marls — is owned and farmed solely by Albert Bichot, a rare distinction in Burgundy. The vineyard sits at the southern edge of the Pommard appellation near Volnay, on land once belonging to the Ursulines convent, with vines averaging 35 to 40 years of age.

The wine is made entirely from Pinot Noir. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled conical oak vats for 18 to 21 days, followed by aging in French oak barrels for 14 to 16 months with 20% to 30% new oak. Approximately 18,000 bottles are produced annually.

On the nose, the wine offers deep scents of red and black fruit — cherry, blackcurrant, and fig — alongside floral notes of violet, rose, and peony, with delicate hints of oak and spice. The palate is full-bodied and round, supported by ripe, silky tannins with an elegant, almost feminine character influenced by the vineyard's proximity to Volnay.
