The result of nearly 30 years of natural cross-breeding research, Sunions are not genetically modified — breeders use gas chromatography to identify and isolate low-volatile onion varieties, producing an onion that won't make you cry when you cut it.

These onions are certified tearless by both BASF and the Ohio State University Sensory Evaluation Center. Every batch must pass three separate quality tests for flavor, crunch, and tearlessness before it is cleared for shipment. Unlike conventional onions that grow hotter and more pungent in storage, Sunions grow sweeter the longer they are stored.
