Lagavulin Offerman Edition Charred Oak Cask is the third release from the acclaimed collaboration between Lagavulin Distillery and actor Nick Offerman, famous for portraying Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation. This limited-edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky is aged for a minimum of 11 years in heavily charred bourbon and red wine barrels, producing a rich and complex character at 92 proof (46% ABV).

The nose opens with smoky peat balanced by warm hints of round red berries, brine, rich chocolate, and treacle. On the palate, creamy vanilla, toasted oak, sweet berries, cocoa, and a subtle saltiness emerge, all underpinned by Lagavulin's signature intense peat. The finish is long, warm, and lingering with a spicy, earthy character.

Lagavulin Distillery is situated on Lagavulin Bay on the Isle of Islay, Scotland—one of the oldest and most revered distilleries in Scotland, with distilling history dating to 1742. Lagavulin's peat-forward style is achieved through heavily peated malted barley and the slowest distillation process of any Islay distillery, lending its whiskies characteristic round flavors and mellow edges.

Nick Offerman recommends pairing this expression with a perfectly cooked medium-rare rib-eye steak, though it complements any hearty meal equally well.
