New Day is an emergency contraceptive tablet containing 1.5mg of levonorgestrel, designed to help prevent pregnancy after birth control failure or unprotected sex. This is a backup method of birth control that should be taken as soon as possible within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected intercourse, and the sooner it is taken, the better it works.

The medication works by stopping or delaying the release of an egg from the ovary. When taken as directed, approximately 7 out of every 8 women who would have gotten pregnant will not become pregnant. New Day will not work if you are already pregnant and will not affect an existing pregnancy. It should not be used as regular birth control.

Manufactured by Northstar Rx LLC and marketed by Novast Laboratories, Ltd. Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to levonorgestrel. This product does not protect against HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases. If vomiting occurs within 2 hours of taking the tablet, consult a healthcare professional about repeating the dose. Certain medications including efavirenz, rifampin, and seizure medications may reduce effectiveness. Store at 20-25°C (68-77°F) and keep away from children.
