Clefs des Murailles Vacqueyras is a classic red wine from the Vacqueyras appellation in the Southern Rhône Valley of France, sold at Costco as a case of 12 bottles (750mL each). Produced by Domaine Clefs des Murailles, this wine is a traditional Rhône blend led predominantly by Grenache (approximately 60%), complemented by Syrah (30%) and Mourvèdre (10%), with an alcohol content around 14.5%.

The wine opens with an intense bouquet of small wild fruits, crushed strawberries, and blueberries, with hints of peppery garrigue, licorice, sandalwood, and warm spice. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied and well-structured, featuring an explosion of fruity flavors, silky tannins, and a long, persistent finish. It is widely regarded as a beautiful expression of Vacqueyras terroir, exhibiting notable purity and freshness. The 2019 vintage earned 91 points from Jeb Dunnuck and 90 points from Wine Enthusiast; the 2021 vintage earned 91 points from James Suckling.

Vacqueyras is one of the Southern Rhône's most distinguished village appellations, with winemaking standards approaching those of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The appellation requires at least half Grenache in red blends and is celebrated for producing wines with bold black cherry, wild berry, fig, and baking spice character. This wine is best served decanted and pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb with thyme, turkey, BBQ, and hearty root vegetables.
