Kirkland Signature Gran Reserva Rum is a premium aged rum from Guatemala, finished in used Cognac barrels and bottled at 40% ABV. This bourbon-casked rum is distilled from molasses using column stills by producers in Guatemala, then sent to Charente, France where master blender Olivier Dumont works with Les Bienheureux to create the final blend.

The rum features a rich nose with vanilla, brown sugar, and earthy tobacco notes that settle after the initial pour. On the palate, it delivers smooth honey and hibiscus flavors with a strong vanilla finish, creating a profile reminiscent of cake paired with a mild cigar. The finish is short but sweet with a brown sugar blast and lingering earthiness.

This Gran Reserva won Double Gold at the San Francisco Spirits contest in 2020, demonstrating exceptional quality for the price point. The rum shares the same spirit lineage as El Pasador De Oro Gran Reserva, which retails for nearly double the cost, making this Kirkland offering an outstanding value. The bourbon cask finishing adds woody vanilla notes that work exceptionally well in cocktails like rum and coke, while also being smooth enough to sip neat.
