Feudo Montoni Nero d'Avola Lagnusa is a Sicilian red wine crafted from 100% Nero d'Avola grapes grown at high altitude on the Feudo Montoni estate in central Sicily. The estate's vineyards, averaging 35 years of age, are planted in sandy soils on east-facing slopes surrounded by durum wheat fields that create a natural isolation — an "island within an island" — protecting the ancient grape varieties from outside influence.

The wine is ruby red in color with a complex bouquet of cherries-in-spirit, red plum, blackberry, cinnamon, and clove, with menthol notes that amplify freshness on the palate. It is soft and velvety with delicate tannins and balanced acidity, earning 93 points from James Suckling. Winemaking follows a traditional approach: aging for 20 months in cement, followed by 2 months in barrels, and an additional 6 months in bottle. Alcohol content is 13.5%. The name "Lagnusa" comes from the Sicilian word meaning "lazy," reflecting a vineyard that yields small quantities but produces fruit of exceptional concentration and quality.
