The Specialyst Zinfandel is a bold, full-bodied red wine crafted from grapes sourced from Lodi's finest Zinfandel vineyards. Lodi, situated roughly 100 miles east of the San Francisco Bay near the Sacramento River Delta, is world-renowned for producing Zinfandel with some of the oldest vines in California—some dating back to 1888. The region's hot, dry days and cool delta breezes create ideal conditions for developing concentrated, fruit-forward flavors balanced by bright acidity.

The wine opens with heady aromas of ripe black cherries, warm cinnamon, fresh violets, and deep red roses, leading into bold flavors of blackberry, spiced plum, currant, cacao, star anise, and fennel with a touch of black pepper. A blend of 95% Zinfandel and 5% Petite Sirah, it is aged for 10 months in a combination of American and French oak barrels (25% new), yielding a smooth, full-bodied wine with a lingering vanilla and caramel finish. Alcohol content is approximately 14.4%.

This versatile wine pairs exceptionally well with grilled and cured meats including pork, lamb, beef, BBQ, and charcuterie, as well as aged cheeses such as manchego, sharp cheddar, stilton, aged gruyère, and gorgonzola. It also complements roasted vegetables, hearty pastas, and dishes seasoned with rosemary, cinnamon, garlic, or black pepper.
