Salon Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs is one of the world's most prestigious and exclusive champagnes, produced only in exceptional vintage years from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs. Since its first vintage in 1905, Salon has released fewer than 40 vintages, with production limited to approximately 60,000 bottles per vintage, making it genuinely rare in the champagne world.

This legendary single-vineyard champagne is crafted from 19-20 parcels totaling about 12 hectares within Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The ancient seabed foundation of the terroir delivers distinctive steely minerality and exceptional acidity. Production methods include fermentation in stainless steel, blocking malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness, using only first press juice, hand-riddling, and extended aging on lees before release with a dosage of approximately 5 grams per liter.

On the nose, Salon exudes fragrant aromas of acacia and hawthorn, hazelnut, brioche and toasted bread, with notes of chamomile, pineapple, beeswax, fresh lemon and grapefruit peel, white stony minerals, and very fresh pastry notes. The palate is concentrated, full-bodied, creamy, tangy and mineral, with chalky and saline characteristics, loads of freshness, cut and effervescence, delivering power and refinement wrapped in elegant youth. The very long finish has distinctive iodine notes and sesame seed flavors. This champagne requires extended cellaring, with optimal drinking arriving after a decade or more, though well-stored bottles continue improving for decades.
