Suntory World Whisky Ao is the first Suntory blend to unite the five most celebrated whisky-making regions in the world into a single, harmonious expression. "Ao" means the color blue in Japanese, evoking the sea that connects continents and cultures. The whisky draws from Japan's Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, Ireland's Cooley Distillery, America's Jim Beam Clermont Distillery, Canada's Alberta Distillery, and Scotland's Ardmore and Glen Garioch distilleries.

Rather than simply unifying individual whisky personalities, Suntory blenders layered and highlighted multiple characteristics from each region, resulting in a profile that evolves depending on when and how it is enjoyed. The nose is profound with vanilla and pineapple-like fruitiness. On the palate, expect a smooth, sweet mouthfeel that gradually reveals smokiness and a cinnamon-like spiciness, finishing with lingering complexity.

The five-sided bottle is a deliberate design choice, each face representing one of the five whisky-producing countries. The label rests on a front corner edge, a nod to Japanese craftsmanship and unconventional design. The bottle features a compass motif and a wave-like logo referencing the maritime theme of Ao.
