Fresh, farm-raised steelhead fillets sold by the pound at Costco warehouse locations. Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is a type of rainbow trout closely related to Pacific salmon, prized for its rich, salmon-like flavor and deep orange-pink flesh. These Kirkland Signature fillets are farm-raised in Norway and arrive boneless with the skin on, making them easy to portion and prepare at home.
Each piece typically weighs approximately 2 pounds, offering several generous servings. The fish is sold fresh and has not been previously frozen, ensuring peak flavor and texture. Skin-on fillets are ideal for grilling or baking, as the skin helps keep the fish intact during cooking and can be left on or removed after cooking. Portions can be cut and frozen at home to extend shelf life and provide convenient future meals.
Steelhead is an excellent source of lean protein and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. It is also rich in B vitamins, potassium, and selenium. The mild, rich flavor pairs well with simple seasonings such as lemon, garlic, and fresh herbs, as well as glazes, marinades, and buttery sauces. Available exclusively at Costco warehouse locations and not sold online.
