Madre Mezcal Ensamble is a certified artisanal mezcal produced in the rolling hills of the Oaxacan Sierra, Mexico. Handcrafted by the García Morales family in San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca, this spirit blends two distinct agave varieties — cultivated Espadín (Agave angustifolia) and wild-harvested Cuishe (Agave karwinskii) — to create a uniquely approachable and complex mezcal.

The production follows centuries-old artisanal traditions: agave piñas are slow-roasted in an earthen pit oven, crushed using a traditional horse-drawn tahona, fermented naturally with wild yeast and local well-water in open-air wooden vats, and double distilled in copper stills. The result is a spirit that carries the distinct character of Oaxacan earth and agave in every drop.

Madre Ensamble is crafted to challenge the perception that all mezcal is heavily smoky. With less smoke than most mezcals, it reveals sweet and mineral flavors complemented by aromatic notes of sage. On the palate, earthy and mineral tones are balanced with hints of green pepper, black peppercorn, and honey, while the finish is lingering and floral with a touch of citrus.
