Vinha da Coutada Velha is a red blend from the Alentejo region of Portugal, produced by Monte da Ravasqueira at Herdade da Mata. The wine is a blend of 30% Aragonez (Tempranillo), 30% Trincadeira, 30% Syrah, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 4 months in used French oak barrels with 13% alcohol by volume and just 1.3 g/L residual sugar.

The wine opens with aromatic sweet berry fruit, touches of spice and vanilla, and floral notes. On the palate it drinks smooth, fresh, and easy with red and dark fruit flavors including cherry, blackberry, and plum, finishing with peppery spice and slight sweetness. It received 92 points from Wine Enthusiast and pairs well with red meat, codfish, and other strongly flavored dishes. Originally from a Coutada (private reserve) dedicated to preserving the biodiversity of the region, this Portuguese value wine is imported by Tri-Vin Imports.
