I Greppi Greppicante is a Bolgheri Rosso DOC red wine from the prestigious Bolgheri appellation on Tuscany's coast, a region celebrated for world-class "Super Tuscan" wines. This refined blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted to showcase the unique terroir of coastal breezes and rich soils that define the area.

The grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation with 30 days of maceration on skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at 28°C, followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. The wine then ages for 12 months in second and third-year French oak barrels with an additional 6 months of bottle aging before release. At 14.5% ABV, it is medium to full-bodied with smooth, well-integrated tannins.

On the nose, Greppicante reveals aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries, plums, dried herbs, cedar, and earthy undertones, with subtle notes of vanilla, baking spices, and tobacco from oak aging. The palate delivers rich dark fruit flavors enhanced by hints of cocoa, licorice, and a lingering mineral finish. Bright acidity and fine tannic structure provide excellent balance and length.

The wine has earned recognition including 93 points from James Suckling, 91 points from Wine Enthusiast, and a Silver Medal at the 2022 Decanter World Wine Awards. It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, lamb chops, rich pasta dishes, mushroom risotto, and aged cheeses like Pecorino or Parmigiano-Reggiano.
