La Fleur Vivaltus is a prestigious Spanish red wine from the Ribera del Duero Denominación de Origen (DO), crafted by Vivaltus—a winery founded by the Yllera family and Ramón Martínez in collaboration with legendary Bordeaux winemaker Jean-Claude Berrouet. Composed primarily of Tempranillo with small additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards in a continental climate and selected both manually and through an optical sorter for exceptional quality.
Each parcel is vinified separately in 24 individual gravity-fed vats, fermented with indigenous yeasts under minimal oxygen exposure to preserve purity and freshness. The wine is aged approximately 11 months in extra-fine grain French oak barrels—80% second-use and 20% new—along with a portion aged in ovoid polymer tanks to contribute freshness and aromatic complexity.
On the nose, La Fleur Vivaltus is elegant and perfumed, offering aromas of red and floral fruits. The palate is lively and concentrated with fresh nuances and pure, lingering flavors. It pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, braised lamb, hearty stews, and small game. The 2016 vintage earned 93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and 94 points from Tim Atkin.
