Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a prestigious Second Growth (Deuxième Cru) red wine from the Pauillac appellation in Bordeaux, France. Produced by one of the Médoc's most celebrated estates, this 750mL bottle showcases the property's signature style of voluptuous, silky texture with deep fruit concentration.
The wine is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a small amount of Petit Verdot — the elevated Merlot content compared to other Pauillac estates gives it a distinctive sensuous quality often described as the most silky and approachable in the Médoc. Grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and aged for approximately 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels. The estate has transitioned to biodynamic farming, certified as of 2024.
Tasting notes typically feature cassis, dark cherry, cedar, tobacco, truffle, and floral elements. The wine benefits from a minimum of 10 to 12 years of bottle age and can reach peak maturity between 15 and 40 years from vintage. Serve at approximately 60°F (15.5°C). Pairs well with veal, beef, lamb, duck, and roasted preparations.
