Château Clerc Milon is a Fifth Growth (5ème Grand Cru Classé) Pauillac red wine from the prestigious 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Located in northern Pauillac with vineyards adjacent to First Growth estates Mouton Rothschild and Lafite Rothschild, this estate has been owned by Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. since 1970.
The 45-hectare vineyard is planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, and 1% Carmenere, with an average vine age of 53 years and some vines dating back to 1903. Vinification takes place in 40 stainless steel temperature-controlled vats in a gravity-fed facility, and the wine is aged in approximately 30% new French oak barrels for 14 to 18 months.
Tasting notes across recent vintages describe a charming, elegant Pauillac with aromas of flowers, black currants, cedar, tobacco, and spice. On the palate, the wine is fresh, silky, and refined with soft tannins and a long finish. Recent vintages have received ratings of 93 to 95 points from leading critics. Best served at 15.5°C (60°F), it pairs well with classic meat dishes, lamb, duck, game, roasted and braised meats, hearty fish, mushrooms, and Asian cuisine. This 750ML bottle is sold individually.
