Château Duhart-Milon is a prestigious Fourth Growth (Quatrième Cru Classé) Bordeaux red wine from the historic 1855 Médoc Classification — the only Fourth Growth Château in the Pauillac appellation. The estate was acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite in 1962, sharing a border with the world-famous Château Lafite Rothschild on the Milon hillside. The 76-hectare vineyard is planted on characteristic Médoc sandy gravel soils with varying proportions of pebbles, sand, and clay deposited during the Quaternary period, giving the terroir distinct coolness that allows for later, more measured picking.
The wine is a classic Pauillac blend of approximately 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot, sourced from vines averaging 30 years of age. Each vintage is aged in oak barrels crafted at the estate's own cooperage. Château Duhart-Milon also produces a second wine under the Moulin de Duhart label. Costco offers this wine by the case of 6 bottles.
On the nose, the wine is rich and expressive with layers of blackberries, mulberries, and raspberries, underpinned by fine tannins, leafy notes, and anise spice. On the palate it delivers silky yet firm structure with vivid fruit — blackberry and raspberry cordials, dark chocolate, clove, and a subtle jammy quality. The finish is long and lifted, brightening toward violet florals and raspberry, with excellent balance and complexity. Recent vintages have been praised for combining the power and finesse that define the finest wines of Pauillac.
