Château Pédesclaux is a prestigious 5th Growth (5ème Grand Cru Classé en 1855) Bordeaux estate situated in the Pauillac appellation of the Médoc, one of the world's most celebrated wine regions. Since its acquisition by the Lorenzetti family in 2009, the château has undergone a remarkable transformation under the direction of Jacky, Françoise, and Manon Lorenzetti, who have committed the estate fully to organic and, on select plots, biodynamic viticulture.
The estate encompasses approximately 50 hectares of vines planted on deep gravel soils with pockets of clay and limestone, yielding a classic Pauillac blend of roughly 57–59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34–36% Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot making up the remainder. The winery itself is a 100% gravity-fed facility — a technological achievement designed by celebrated architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte — allowing the fruit to be handled with minimal intervention and preserving the full aromatic expression of the Pédesclaux terroir.
The wine is known for a style that is charming and multi-layered yet immediately seductive, defying the stereotype of austere young Pauillac. Organic certification has been in place since 2019, reflecting the family's deep commitment to sustainable, environmentally responsible winemaking. Each vintage is a unique expression of one of Bordeaux's most dynamic and evolving classified estates.
