Joseph Drouhin Bourgogne Rouge is a classic red Burgundy wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from rigorously selected vineyards across the Bourgogne AOC appellation in Burgundy, France. Maison Joseph Drouhin is a family-owned winery established in 1880, now in its fourth generation, and produces this wine as the archetype of Bourgogne Pinot Noir — balancing character, elegance, and authentic terroir expression.
In the vineyard, Drouhin employs organic and biodynamic farming practices using only natural products, with deep respect for the soil and environment. Grapes are harvested by hand in open-work crates and carefully sorted before vinification. After total destemming, the wine undergoes one to two weeks of maceration and fermentation with indigenous or cultivated yeasts, then ages for 10 to 14 months in oak barrels with 15 to 20% new oak.
The wine displays a bright, vibrant ruby color with an expressive nose of red fruits — raspberry, red currant, and wild strawberry. On the palate it is pleasant, fruity, and refreshing with light, smooth tannins and Drouhin's signature elegance. It is best served at 12–13°C (53–55°F) and is ready to enjoy now, with an aging potential of up to 10 years. It has earned 91-point scores from Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, James Suckling, and Decanter. Alcohol content is 12.5% ABV.
