291 Colorado Straight Rye Barrel Proof Whiskey is a bold, limited-release American rye whiskey crafted at Distillery 291, a small-batch distillery nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The whiskey is distilled in a copper pot still using locally sourced Colorado grains and water from Pikes Peak reservoirs, then matured in deep-charred new American white oak barrels and finished with toasted Aspen wood staves — a signature technique that sets it apart from traditional rye expressions.

This barrel proof release is bottled straight from the cask without dilution, delivering a proof in the range of approximately 129 proof (64.8% ABV). The mash bill features a high rye content, resulting in a characteristically assertive yet layered spirit. On the nose, rich caramel and toffee lead the way, layered with leather, pipe tobacco, cinnamon, clove, and hints of toasted oak and aspen. The palate is viscous and full-bodied, with clove, toffee, tobacco, and toasted oak at the forefront.
