McIlroy Cellars is a family-owned Sonoma County winery producing handcrafted wines from premier vineyard sources in the Russian River Valley. Their Reserve Pinot Noir is sourced from the Vines and Roses Vineyard — one of the finest sites in the appellation — and represents the winery's flagship single-vineyard red wine.
This garnet-colored wine offers aromas of chocolate-dipped orange peel, mint crème, ripe cranberry, and custard. The palate is round, vibrant, and fruit-forward with a smooth, medium-long finish showing vanilla latte, cherry crumble, and hints of root beer, framed by moderate, well-integrated oak. Dark berry and cherry flavors lead, with supporting strawberry notes and a silky smooth texture. The wine drinks well upon release and has aging potential of five or more years.
This Reserve bottling has earned exceptional recognition at major wine competitions, including a 99-point Double Gold Medal from the California State Fair Wine Competition, a 95-point Gold Medal from the San Diego International Wine Challenge, a 95-point score from Wine Review Online (Michael Franz), a 92+ Gold Medal from the Artisan Awards, and a 90-point Gold Medal from the Monterey International Wine Competition. The wine retails at $65 per bottle directly from the winery.
