The Imperio Rioja Premium Collection is a three-bottle gift set showcasing the full range of Rioja's aging classifications, sourced from La Rioja Alavesa, one of Spain's most prestigious wine subregions. Crafted by the López-Alonso family at their estate on the banks of the Ebro River, each wine is produced from hand-selected Tempranillo grapes grown in vineyards influenced by Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Continental climates.

The collection includes three distinct expressions. The Crianza presents bright aromas of blackcurrant and ripe blackberry with a gentle lift of nutmeg, showing silky texture and finely sculpted tannins, aged 12 months in French and American oak barrels followed by 12 months in bottle. The Reserva (2016 vintage, CellarTracker avg. 88 points) delivers deep tones of dark chocolate, redcurrant, and ripe cherry accented by spiced vanilla, full-bodied and well-balanced, aged 30 months in medium-toast oak plus an additional 12 months in bottle. The Gran Reserva (2014 vintage, CellarTracker avg. 86.5 points, reviewed by James Suckling) is the flagship of the set, offering aromas of blackberry, licorice, wild herbs, and subtle vanilla with resonant sweetness, soft tannins, and a long, enduring finish; matured for at least 30 months in French and American oak followed by a minimum of 24 months in bottle. The Gran Reserva is a Tempranillo-Graciano blend bottled at 14% ABV.
