Kurosawa Nigori is an unfiltered sake brewed by the Kurosawa Brewing Company in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Founded in 1858 and now overseen by the fifth generation of the Kurosawa family, this brewery has crafted sake using traditional methods for over 150 years. The brand was introduced to the US market in 1998 and has since become one of the most recognized premium sake brands in the country.

Nigori-style sake retains rice solids after brewing, giving it a characteristic marble-white, cloudy appearance, a fuller medium-to-full body, and a natural sweetness. This Junmai Nigori uses locally grown Nagano rice milled to 70%, and is brewed with a traditional approach that produces a clean, well-rounded flavor. At 8% ABV, it is lighter in alcohol than most wines and features a Sake Meter Value of -40, reflecting its distinctly sweet profile, and an acidity level of 2.

On the nose, Kurosawa Nigori offers fresh, fruity aromas with notes of melon and cream. The palate delivers on that promise with a creamy umami richness and lush sweetness balanced by subtle fruit. It is best served cold between 40 and 60°F. This sake pairs exceptionally well with spicy dishes such as spicy tuna rolls, chicken teriyaki, chili edamame, and kimchi, and is equally at home alongside desserts, seafood, grilled meats, and fresh fruit.
