Villa Sparina Blanc de Blancs Brut is an elegant Italian sparkling wine produced at the Villa Sparina estate in Gavi, Piemonte, by the Moccagatta family who acquired the historic property in the late 1970s. Crafted exclusively from the Cortese grape variety grown in estate vineyards, this wine is made using the traditional Metodo Classico bottle-fermentation method โ the same technique used in Champagne production.
After extended aging on the lees of at least 42 months, the wine develops remarkable complexity and depth. On the nose, it offers aromas of peach, lemon rind, and dried grapefruit. On the palate, it is crisp, fresh, and well-balanced with a full body, round texture, and a lively mineral backbone. The distinctive bottle shape was inspired by an 18th-century bottle discovered in the estate's historic cellar.
This bottling earned 92 points from James Suckling, who praised its unique character for the Gavi region. Sold in a 750ML bottle with 12% ABV.
