Flowers Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is a critically acclaimed white wine from Flowers Vineyards & Winery, founded in 1989 by Walt and Joan Flowers. This pioneering estate helped establish the rugged extreme Sonoma Coast as one of California's premier wine-growing regions, with vineyards including the renowned Camp Meeting Ridge and Sea View Ridge perched at high elevations near the Pacific Ocean. The estate practices organic and sustainable farming, allowing cool maritime breezes and coastal fog to shape grapes with vibrant acidity and distinct minerality.
Mouthwatering and vibrant, this Chardonnay balances elegance and energy from nose to finish. Notes of fresh evergreen aromas open to mandarin orange edged with pithy lime and layers of subtle coastal brininess. On the palate, citrus flavors with hints of plushness stand against a beautiful backbone of acidity, with a distinctive herbal character emerging at the core and flinty minerality expanding into a pure, vibrant finish. Wine Spectator describes it as featuring "a lively, mouthwatering and energetic mix of pomelo, yuzu and lemon sherbet flavors, with hints of sweetgrass, apple blossoms and lime zest."
Wine Spectator awarded this wine 93 points and ranked it #43 on their Top 100 Wines of 2024. Jeb Dunnuck scored it 96 points, noting its electric energy, exceptional clarity, and ability to age through 2037. Vinous scored it 92 points, calling it "a steely, beautifully persistent Chardonnay." Each 750 ML bottle contains 12.0% alcohol by volume.
