5-Gallon Blue Point Juniper

The Blue Point Juniper (Juniperus chinensis 'Blue Point') is a classic upright evergreen shrub sold in a 5-gallon (#5) container. It is prized for its striking silver-blue foliage that retains its color year-round and its naturally narrow, conical habit that fits beautifully into a wide range of landscapes.

This low-maintenance evergreen grows at a steady medium rate, typically adding at least 6 inches per year, and reaches a mature height of 8 to 12 feet while remaining just 3 to 6 feet wide. Its dense, upright branching makes it an excellent choice for privacy screens, windbreaks, noise barriers, or as a dramatic specimen plant. It can also be trimmed into formal conical shapes for a more structured, elegant appearance. Hardy in USDA Zones 4 through 9, the Blue Point Juniper withstands temperatures as low as -30°F and thrives equally well in hot southern climates. Plant in full sun in any well-drained soil for best growth and foliage color. Once established, it is drought resistant and largely free of pests and disease.
