Château Fleur Cardinale is a celebrated Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé estate situated in the St. Etienne-de-Lisse sector of Bordeaux's Right Bank, France. This 3-liter double magnum format showcases the estate's signature red blend crafted from a 23.5-hectare vineyard planted to approximately 75% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard sits on dark red clay over limestone soils at elevations reaching 75 meters, contributing to a cooler, late-ripening terroir that yields wines of exceptional depth and longevity.
The estate was acquired by Dominique and Florence Decoster in 2001, who undertook a complete renovation of the property and winemaking facilities. Certified 100% organic as of 2024, the vineyard is farmed using organic, self-sustainable techniques with vines averaging 30 years of age—some Merlot vines dating back 70 years. Vinification is conducted parcel by parcel in 25 small thermoregulated stainless steel vats, followed by aging in 90% new French oak barrels for 12 to 15 months. A 3L format of this quality wine is ideal for large gatherings and cellar collections, offering the same rich, structured Bordeaux profile in an impressive presentation bottle.
The wine delivers characteristic Saint-Émilion complexity with notes of dark fruit, plum, and earthy minerality. Best vintages include 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2016, 2015, 2012, 2010, and 2009. The wine ages extremely well, remaining fresh for the first decade and continuing to evolve for ten or more additional years.
