Dancing Crow Vineyards Collette Reserve is a red blend from Lake County, California. This family-owned winery is operated by Tony and Sarah Cartlidge with their sons Adam and Stefan, featuring winemaker Scott Kirkpatrick's expertise. The estate encompasses 56 acres across three parcels at elevations of 1,400-1,500 feet with volcanic-influenced soils, including dense black clay and iron-rich alluvial compositions.
Dancing Crow specializes in producing wines that express the unique terroir of Lake County, emphasizing aromatics, complex fruit characteristics, and vibrant acidity. Their red wines are crafted from grapes grown in the Kelsey Bench AVA, located just 20 miles north of Calistoga with many similarities to the famed Napa Valley region. The winery grows diverse red varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah, Barbera, Primitivo, Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Grenache, Cinsault, and Petite Sirah.
The winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, letting the soil and grapes speak for themselves. The volcanic soils and microclimates of Lake County produce wines that are accessible and reflective of the region's distinctive character. Dancing Crow has successfully positioned itself as a high-quality, astronomic-value winery, offering wines that showcase the viticultural excellence of Lake and Mendocino Counties.
