A single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Ken Wright Cellars, one of Oregon's most celebrated winemakers, sourced from the legendary Shea Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton District of the Willamette Valley. This impressive 3-liter format — equivalent to four standard bottles — is ideal for entertaining, gifting, or extended cellaring. Shea Vineyard is planted in Willakenzie sedimentary soils at elevations ranging from 450 to 600 feet, with Pommard and Wädenswil clones first established in 1989.
The wine displays characteristic aromas of cherry, raspberry, forest floor, and baking spice, with moderately rich flavors of red and black raspberry, pomegranate, black cherry, and plum, all balanced by nicely integrated tannins and lively acidity. Ken Wright Cellars employs organic-certified farming practices with a philosophy of minimal intervention, hand-sorting each cluster, and maintaining proper crop levels to preserve the inherent character of the fruit. These wines are polished enough to enjoy upon release yet possess the structure and depth to age gracefully for a decade or more.
Ken Wright Cellars was founded with the 1994 vintage in Carlton, Oregon, where the winery operates out of a historic renovated 1920s train depot. Wright is widely credited as a pioneer of single-vineyard Pinot Noir in Oregon and was instrumental in establishing the region's six landmark sub-AVAs in the northern Willamette Valley.
