Bodegas Breca El Nacido is a 100% Garnacha de Aragón from the D.O. Calatayud appellation in northeastern Spain. Founded in 2012 by importer Jorge Ordóñez, Bodegas Breca sources this wine from younger bush vines planted between 1960 and 1980 at extremely high altitudes in the villages of Castejón de Alarba, Nuevalos, and Olves within the Sierra de Pardos range.

The grapes are hand-harvested and dry farmed using traditional organic goblet-trained viticulture. After destemming, whole berries undergo co-maceration in stainless steel and concrete tanks with fermentation initiated by a pied de cuve. Maceration lasts no more than 10 days, followed by aging for eight months in concrete (70%) and large 500L–600L puncheons and demi-muids (30%). A small percentage of co-planted white grapes is blended in, adding freshness and aromatic complexity.

El Nacido expresses ripe black cherries, raspberries, violet, crushed stone, and peppery herbs with a medium to full body, pure layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a compelling balance of richness and freshness. Calatayud's rocky slate and quartz soils and dramatic diurnal temperature swings of up to 60°F contribute to its distinctive character. Garnacha de Aragón is considered the oldest clone of Grenache in the world, first cultivated in this corner of Spain before spreading across the Mediterranean. The 2022 vintage earned 91 points from Wine Enthusiast and recognition as a Best Value by Wine Spectator.
