Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Napa Valley's most prestigious and sought-after wines, produced from estate vineyards in Oakville. This cult wine is crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, blended with approximately 18% Merlot and smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, creating a masterpiece that balances power and finesse. The wine is aged for nearly two years in 65% new French oak barrels, resulting in an alcohol content of 14.8%.
The wine captivates with seductive aromas of dark cherries, ripe plums, and blackberries, interwoven with nuances of mocha, grilled herbs, and leather. On the palate, it delivers a symphony of flavors dominated by pure cassis and dark fruits, accompanied by classic graphite and lead pencil notes, all enhanced by a beautiful sense of minerality and pronounced tannins. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and sophistication.
Screaming Eagle remains one of Napa Valley's smallest and most exclusive wineries, with annual production limited to approximately 500 cases. The estate vineyards are managed by David Abreu, with Nick Gislason serving as winemaker and Michel Rolland as consulting winemaker. Founded in 1986, the winery has gained a cult-like following for its low production, exceptional quality, and extreme exclusivity. Since 2010, bottles have been embedded with a bubble-coded security system between the foil and bottle to verify authenticity and prevent counterfeiting. This 3-pack comes in an original wood case and is best cellared for 7-8 years after release, with a drinking window extending from 2028 to 2050.
