Westland Distillery's Garryana American Single Malt Whiskey is crafted in Seattle's SoDo neighborhood and represents the distillery's most acclaimed expression. It is centered on Quercus garryana, a rare species of oak indigenous to the Pacific Northwest whose dense, tannin-rich wood imparts a unique spice profile unlike any other whiskey in the world.

Each batch is built on Westland's signature five-malt grain bill, incorporating pale malt, Munich malt, Extra Special malt, Pale Chocolate malt, and Brown malt, drawing inspiration from the Pacific Northwest craft brewing tradition. Fermentation runs for 144 hours using Belgian Saison yeast to develop a wide range of esters and fruit-forward complexity. The whiskey is aged for a minimum of five years before being finished in a combination of native Garryana oak casks and oloroso sherry casks.

Tasting notes include burnt marshmallow, biscuit, mocha, and almond cream on the nose, while the palate delivers ground clove, cinnamon stick, peppermint tea, and bread pudding, with an elegant and precise finish. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), this limited annual release is produced in small quantities, with each edition representing a new chapter in Westland's ongoing exploration of Pacific Northwest terroir.
