Hamafukutsuru Junmai Daiginjo is a premium pure rice sake (junmai daiginjo) produced by Koyama Honke Shuzo Co., Ltd. in the renowned Nada district of Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The brewery, established around 1900, takes its name from the Japanese words for beach (hama), good fortune (fuku), and crane (tsuru), and has long specialized in producing mellow, refined sake using traditional methods.
This sake is crafted exclusively from locally sourced Hyogo prefecture rice polished to 45% of its original grain size — meeting the strict daiginjo classification — along with pure natural underground water from Mount Rokko. The Omachi rice variety, prized for the depth of umami it contributes, plays a central role in the flavor profile. The result is an elegant, aromatic sake with notes of green melon, ripe apple, and white flowers, balanced by a smooth mouthfeel and crisp, clean finish. It can be enjoyed hot, lukewarm, at room temperature, cold, or on the rocks.
This expression has earned multiple prestigious awards, including a Grand Gold Medal at The Fine Sake Awards Japan 2021, a Gold Award at the Kan Sake Award 2021, and a Premium Gold Award at the Kan Sake Award 2019. Each bottle contains 720ml at 15% ABV.
