Maison Darragon Le Haut des Ruettes is a French white wine from the Vouvray appellation in the Loire Valley, crafted from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes grown on the estate's historic vineyards. Vouvray is one of the Loire Valley's most celebrated appellations, renowned for producing expressive, terroir-driven Chenin Blanc wines with remarkable aging potential. Maison Darragon is a family-run estate with roots tracing back to 1761, bringing centuries of winemaking tradition to this bottling.
The wine is classified as demi-sec (medium dry), with a pale yellow color showing faint green hints. The nose offers honeysuckle, ripe stone fruit, peach, citrus peel, and honeydew melon, with an underlying layer of wet stone and mineral complexity. On the palate, it delivers stone fruit and citrus flavors balanced by a refreshing acidity and gentle residual sweetness, finishing with lingering minerality. Alcohol is 12.5% by volume.
Rated approximately 90 points by the wine community, this Vouvray is an outstanding value that pairs well with poultry, lightly spiced dishes, seafood, and soft cheeses. It can be enjoyed now or cellared for further development.
