Old Overholt Extra Aged Cask Strength Rye is a 10-year-old straight rye whiskey and a landmark limited release from the oldest continually produced and maintained whiskey brand in America. Originally established in West Overton, Pennsylvania in 1810 by Abraham Overholt, the brand is today produced at James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. This expression marks the first publicly available cask strength release from Old Overholt since the mid-20th century.

The whiskey was barreled in the winter and autumn seasons of 2012 and laid down in one of the few remaining "Escalator Warehouses" in Clermont, Kentucky — Warehouse V. This distinctive warehousing style delivers remarkable consistency and gentle mellowing over time. After a full decade of aging, the whiskey was bottled unfiltered at cask strength of 121.0 proof (60.5% ABV).

The whiskey presents a dark and deep amber color with golden and henna hues. The aroma is bold yet sweet, with mellowed oak, sweet corn, and vanilla underpinned by warm black pepper and cinnamon-toast spice. On the palate, flavors of brown sugar, honey, leather, and charred oak develop, culminating in a long finish with lingering rye spice and vanilla.
